August 6th 2015, Members of the Branford Fire Department - Local 2533, East Haven Fire Department & the New York City Fire Department's honor guards including New Haven Emerald Society and the F.D.N.Y. Pipe band as well as many other volunteers and delegates welcomed PATH car 745 into its new home at the East Haven Trolley Museum.

Bailout Bag Training.

May 2015, some members of the Local 2533 were selected to participate in a train the trainer program for the newly purchased bail out kits. Members from Branford Fire were given some classroom instruction as well as in depth hands on training on how to utilize these lifesaving pieces of equipment from some members of Stratford Fire Dept.

Attic fire

On May 4, 2015 at @ 3:15 p.m. the Branford Fire Department was dispatched to Sound view Heights for a reported structure fire. Engines 1,2,9 Rescue 1, Truck 1, Medic 1, Car 6 as the incident commander. Car 2 arrived first on scene to report smoke showing from the attic area.

Fatal Accident I-95

On April 30th at 6:00a.m. Units C6,E1,R1,M1&M2 were dispatched to an motor vehicle accident on I-95 n\b. Units on scene found a head on accident involving a mini van and a pick up truck. Extrication was required (using HURST cutters, spreaders, & rams) One patient was found to be d.o.a. but M1 & M2 transported 2 other occupants.

Once on scene crews were met with a significant amount of fire on the first and second floors trapping the occupants of the third floor with no means of egress including the fire escape. Group 3 battles Bowers Street structure fire

Companies from Group 3 responded to a reported structure fire on September 4th at appoximately 14:45 at the reported address of 210 Salem Street. Arriving companies reported heavy fire in the rear of the structure running its way up the outside of the building and began stretching lines.

Five new firefighters were sworn in this morning at city hall.  This marks the first new class of recruits since 2008.  They will now spend the next 14 weeks at Harrisburg Area Community College were they will train and earn their certifications.  Upon successful completion they will join their brothers in the Scranton Fire Department in protecting our city.
